Long Weekend: Contraflow Implemented on Cikampek Toll Road

A traffic engineering measure in the form of contraflow has been implemented on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road section to anticipate heavy vehicle traffic during the long weekend holiday coinciding with Good Friday on Friday (3/4). PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) states that this policy is a form of support for the police’s discretion in maintaining smooth traffic flow towards the eastern direction of Trans Java. “PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) supports the police’s discretion by implementing a traffic engineering measure in the form of contraflow from KM 47 to KM 66 towards Cikampek at 09:18 WIB,” said Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, in an official statement, quoted from Detik. Ria explained that the contraflow implementation is carried out situationally, considering the on-site traffic conditions. This step is taken to alleviate vehicle congestion that increases with public mobility during the long holiday. According to her, this traffic arrangement is the result of coordination between JTT and the police to ensure the smoothness and safety of road users. “The implementation of contraflow on one lane from KM 47 to KM 66 towards Cikampek is at the discretion of the police as an effort to maintain smooth vehicle flow towards the eastern Trans Java region,” she said. She added that JTT, together with the police, continues to conduct intensive monitoring of traffic conditions to ensure that the engineering runs optimally and can adapt to field dynamics. JTT also urges toll road users to prioritise safety during their journeys. Drivers are asked to ensure that their physical condition and vehicles are in prime condition before departing. In addition, road users are reminded to maintain a safe distance, obey traffic signs, and follow the instructions of on-site officers, especially when passing through the contraflow lane. Drivers are also asked to anticipate weather changes, ensure sufficient electronic money balance, and plan their journeys well to avoid obstacles during travel.
