Residents queued to collect free food aid at the RW 03 community hall in Menteng Subdistrict, Jakarta, on Wednesday (10/6/2026). Beneficiary Families (KPM) registered in the Ministry of Social Affairs’ Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) received 20 kg of rice and 4 litres of cooking oil. The Government, through the National Food Agency (Bapanas) and Perum Bulog, is once again running the Free Rice Food Aid Distribution programme for 2026. The distribution of the rice aid and Minyakita people’s cooking oil programme will be channelled to 33.2 million Beneficiary Families (KPM). Each KPM receives 20 kg of rice and 4 litres of cooking oil. CNBC Indonesia observed residents appearing enthusiastic and very grateful, feeling helped by this Government assistance. Residents acknowledged this aid is highly beneficial and eases the burden of daily needs for KPMs. One resident and head of RT 09/08 in Menteng, Oke Atmaja, 40, expressed thanks to the government. ‘I am very grateful for this assistance in the form of rice and oil. This aid truly helps to meet daily staple needs; I hope it remains right on target,’ Oke said when met by CNBC Indonesia. This programme forms part of efforts to control inflation, strengthen food security, and protect the purchasing power of low-income communities. When collecting the free rice, a number of recipients were required to meet several conditions, such as bringing their KTP and/or Family Card and an invitation letter distributed by the local RT/RW.
