Long Queues as DKI Civil Servants Enthusiastically Join Halalbihalal at City Hall
JAKARTA - Civil servants (ASN) of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government queued up in long lines when participating in the halalbihalal event after the joint Eid al-Fitr leave, at the DKI Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday (25/3/2026). Observations at the location showed rows of employees snaking along, starting from the pendopo area and extending through the corridor hallways to the DKI DPRD area. The ASN appeared to be wearing matching white-and-black uniforms. They stood neatly in the queue, some chatting, others busy checking their phones while waiting their turn. One ASN, Maulana, admitted to having lined up neatly since 07:30 WIB. In fact, the halalbihalal session with Pramono-Rano began at 09:00 WIB. “If not from now, it will get even more crowded. If you’re already coming in the morning, might as well do it all in the morning,” said Maulana on Wednesday. Another employee, Rina (34), said something similar, having queued since the morning. “The queue is indeed long, but this only happens once a year. So we remain enthusiastic,” she stated. The same goes for Dedi (41). He mentioned that the snaking queue was not a problem as long as it proceeded orderly. “The important thing is to be able to engage in direct silaturahmi with the leadership. Earlier, the queue was slow but still moving,” he said. He assessed that the queue atmosphere felt warm because the Eid al-Fitr moment was still palpable. “It’s also a chance to meet office friends I haven’t seen in a long time. So, waiting doesn’t feel long,” he added.
