Long May Day Weekend Expected to See 15% Rise in Whoosh Passengers
Passengers on the Whoosh high-speed train during the 1-3 May 2026 long weekend are predicted to rise by around 15% compared to a regular weekend. “KCIC predicts an increase in passengers who will holiday using Whoosh during this long weekend. Therefore, the public is urged to book tickets early to ensure seat availability and desired schedules,” said General Manager of Corporate Secretary at KCIC (Kereta Cepat Indonesia China) Eva Chairunisa in an official statement on Thursday (30/4/2026). Eva stated that the daily passenger volume is estimated to reach more than 22,000 passengers per day. The public is urged to book Whoosh tickets immediately, especially through online channels such as the Whoosh app and the website ticket.kcic.co.id. Tickets can also be booked through partner apps like Access by KAI, Livin’ by Mandiri, BRImo, Wondr by BNI, Tiket.com, Traveloka, and Trip.com, to secure the desired travel schedule. She added that the increase in Whoosh passengers has been evident since Thursday afternoon (30/4/2026). “Whoosh occupancy from both Halim Station and the Padalarang direction continues to increase, up to the last departure with occupancy above 85% and still rising,” said Eva. She continued that Whoosh has become one of the main choices for the public for quick and efficient travel between Jakarta and Bandung during long holiday moments like this. “KCIC urges the public to plan their trips and book tickets early, considering that during long holidays, tickets for popular times tend to sell out quickly. With good planning, the journey can be more comfortable and according to the desired schedule,” said Eva.
