Jakarta - The long Lunar New Year 2026 holiday is starting to be felt on a number of roads in Bandung City, West Java. Traffic heading toward the Pasteur Toll Gate even experienced heavy congestion today.

Based on detikJabar’s observation on Sunday (2/15/2026), the congestion occurred as both cars and motorcycles headed toward the Pasteur Toll Gate. The gridlock was already visible on the Mochtar Kusumaatmadja flyover, also known as the Pasupati flyover, right above the Jalan Sukajadi intersection. As a result, vehicles were backed up in a long queue. Motorcyclists even struggled to find a way through due to the sheer density of vehicles.

“The traffic jam started around 1 PM. The congestion is heading toward Pasteur,” said Wati (38), a street vendor selling near the Pasupati flyover toward Pasteur when the jam occurred.

She said that during long holidays, Jalan Dr. Djunjunan is frequently hit by traffic jams. The congestion usually peaks until the afternoon and gradually eases in the evening.

Wati said she plans to try selling until the afternoon. She hopes the long Lunar New Year holiday will bring in some extra income from her merchandise.
