Long Holiday Return Traffic: Nearly 200,000 Vehicles Enter Jabotabek
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — Nearly 199,293 vehicles entered Jabotabek during the H+4 period of the Idul Adha long holiday on Sunday, May 31, 2026, marking a 13.40 percent increase from the normal traffic volume of 175,739 vehicles.
The traffic increase was recorded across four main toll gates: Cikampek Utama, Ciawi, Kalihurip Utama, and Cikupa.
In terms of distribution, the majority of vehicles entering Jabotabek came from the east, specifically Bandung and Trans-Java routes, with 99,557 vehicles. This was followed by 52,905 vehicles from Puncak and 46,831 from Merak.
Conversely, traffic from Merak to Jabotabek decreased by 3.38 percent compared to normal conditions, while traffic from Puncak rose by 12.62 percent.
PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk President Director Rivan A. Purwantono noted that outbound traffic from Jabotabek also remained high at 153,000 vehicles on May 31, 2026, a 14.76 percent increase from usual levels.
Jasa Marga urged road users to prepare thoroughly for their journeys, prioritising safety while driving on toll roads. Drivers were also advised to ensure their vehicles and drivers are in good condition, check electronic money balances, and comply with road signs and traffic officers’ instructions.
