The Lombok Timur Regency Government (Pemkab Lombok Timur), West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), is preparing a Rp30 billion budget for social assistance (bansos) during Ramadan 2026. The funds will be disbursed to around 198,000 residents in the low-income category.

Regent Haerul Warisin said the social assistance is intended to support residents’ needs during Ramadan. Although the regency is implementing budget efficiencies this year, the Pemkab still allocated around Rp30 billion.

‘Because we are also pursuing efficiency, we have budgeted Rp30 billion. I hope those receiving it can be more,’ said the regent, popularly known as Iron, on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.

Iron explained that the social assistance will target residents in decile 1 and 2, i.e., the lowest-income groups. The total number of recipients is targeted to reach around 198,000 people.

‘The recipients will come from decile 1 and 2, and so on up to around 198,000 recipients,’ Iron said.

Head of the Lombok Timur Social Service, Siti Aminah, explained that the number of recipients in each village will differ. Recipient determinations refer to the latest data that has undergone validation.

‘The number of recipients will vary by village; they are validated based on the latest data,’ Aminah said.

She noted that the social assistance will be disbursed in the form of basic food parcels. Each parcel contains 5 kilograms of rice, 1 kilogram of sugar, and 1 litre of cooking oil.

‘With this social assistance, we hope it can help households ease the economic burden during Ramadan this year,’ said Siti Aminah.
