SOLO, KOMPAS.com - Based on information circulating on social media, the government will implement an odd–even traffic management scheme on the Central Java toll road during the mudik and balik periods for Lebaran 2026. The Central Java Police confirmed that the odd–even traffic management relates to mudik and balik, in accordance with a joint decree (SKB) by the Director General of Land Transportation, the Kakorlantas of the Indonesian National Police, and the Director General of Highway Construction. The Head of the Operations Division of the Ditlantas Polda Jawa Tengah, AKBP Aidil Fitri Syah, said the odd–even traffic system applies only to toll-road users on specific segments and at specific times. Outside those times, traffic in Central Java will be normal. Additionally, the traffic management will be implemented only on certain toll road segments. ‘During the mudik period, the odd–even system will start from KM 47 on the Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road, up to KM 414 on the Semarang–Batang Toll Road; during the balik period, it will run from KM 414 back to KM 47,’ he said. Beyond the toll roads and times specified above, the odd–even traffic management will not apply, such as on arterial roads or before and after the defined period. According to the official Semarang City Transportation Agency (Dishub), the system will be strictly monitored with penalties issued via electronic traffic tickets installed along the toll road segments, rather than manually at toll gates. The traffic management is expected to be complied with to facilitate smooth traffic flow and anticipate potential increases in the number of motor vehicles during the mudik and balik periods.
