Jakarta — VinFast Indonesia CEO Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto said the VF MPV 7’s domestic content (TKDN) has reached 40 per cent, in line with the Indonesian government’s target. The milestone was achieved after the seven-seat battery-electric vehicle was officially assembled locally in Completely Knocked Down (CKD) form at the company’s facility in Subang, West Java. ‘So for the level of local content, we comply with the government’s requirement of 40 per cent minimum,’ Kariyanto told reporters in Jakarta on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. The company also confirms the figure will continue to rise as government policy and the maturity of the assembly ecosystem advance. ‘In the future we must keep increasing it, in line with the government’s programme that raises domestic content in certain years,’ he said. In line with the CKD production launch for the VF MPV 7, VinFast has also made several refinements claimed to align with Indonesian consumer needs. Some of the adjustments include adding Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, retractable side mirrors, a 360-degree camera, and a rear ducktail. Despite the feature updates, Kariyanto confirmed the selling price of the VF MPV 7 will not change. The car is marketed from Rp 345 million on the road in Jakarta under the battery-subscription scheme, and Rp 420 million for a purchase including a battery. ‘For the first 2,000 buyers, we are offering a promo price of Rp 329 million under the battery-subscription scheme,’ Kariyanto said.
