Local researchers, students in Japan

JAKARTA: One hundred and eighteen Indonesian researchers and
students left for Japan Tuesday to further their studies.

The Japanese embassy stated Tuesday that the researchers and
students were recipients of scholarships from the Indonesian and
Japanese governments.

It said the Japanese embassy was also offering scholarships to
Indonesian civil servants for postgraduate studies in Japan in
1998. (swe)
