PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) together with the police is implementing traffic engineering in the form of a discretionary local one-way system on the Semarang Toll Road Sections A, B, C up to the Batang-Semarang Toll Road. This policy is taken to anticipate the increase in vehicle volume during the Lebaran return flow period on Tuesday (24/3). The local one-way system is implemented starting from KM 425+800 of the Semarang Toll Road Sections A, B, C up to KM 414 Kalikangkung Toll Gate of the Batang-Semarang Toll Road since 10:12 WIB. Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, said that they have prepared several strategic steps together with the police to ease traffic density in the Semarang area. “We have prepared several agreed-upon actions with the police. To ease the density on the toll road around the Semarang area, the use of the one-way system has been agreed upon,” said Ria in her statement. She added that JTT is also deploying operational officers and ensuring the readiness of facilities and infrastructure to support the smooth implementation of this traffic engineering. To support the smoothness during the implementation of the local one-way on the Semarang Toll Road Sections A, B, C, JTT ensures the readiness of transaction services at the toll gates. There are a total of 9 toll gates with 37 toll booths and on-board unit (OBU) services. In addition, 17 mobile reader units are also prepared to speed up vehicle transaction processes. Besides the local one-way engineering, JTT together with the police is also implementing a one-lane contraflow on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, specifically from KM 70 to KM 47 towards Jakarta, starting at 10:30 WIB. Ria emphasised that the implementation of this traffic engineering is situational, adjusting to field conditions to maintain smooth vehicle flow towards Jakarta. “The implementation of this contraflow is an anticipatory step to help ease traffic density during the return flow period. JTT together with the police continues to monitor traffic conditions and will make adjustments if necessary,” she said.
