Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Thousand Islands Regency Health Sub-department (Sudinkes) has deployed five sea ambulances to provide emergency health services for residents in the island region. “Five sea ambulances are serving the emergency health needs of residents in the Thousand Islands area,” said Head of the Thousand Islands Health Sub-department, Ghamal Ahmad Pramana, in Jakarta on Wednesday. He explained that two units of sea ambulances belong to the Regional Health Crisis and Emergency Centre (PK3D) and are ready to serve emergency assistance requests. Additionally, two sea ambulance units belong to the Thousand Islands Regional General Hospital (RSUD) and one unit belongs to the North Thousand Islands Community Health Centre (Puskesmas), all on standby to assist with health services. All five ambulances are in good condition, coordinating with and supporting each other operationally when a patient requires assistance. Ghamal detailed that the two RSUD sea ambulances are stationed on Pramuka Island, while the two PK3D units are on Tidung Island and Kelapa Island, and the Puskesmas unit is also on Kelapa Island. He added that the sea ambulances are on standby and ready to serve the needs of residents in the Thousand Islands who require them, including facilitating patient referrals from the islands. “So far, the presence of these five sea ambulances has been sufficient to meet emergency service needs, especially as the nearest sea ambulance is ready to refer patients as required,” he said.
