Local Beauty Product Industry Begins Commitment to Promoting Environmental Awareness to Consumers
Beauty brands are now frequently utilising their brand activations to promote product packaging management habits after use, as a form of commitment and care for the environment.
This is being demonstrated by Beautyinu through its ‘Birthday Treats’ programme, where, as part of its anniversary celebrations, consumers are invited to collect empty product packaging to be exchanged for a free body care product.
Aisyah, the Creative Manager of Beautyinu, stated that the programme is part of the brand’s anniversary celebrations, inviting consumers to save used packaging until they reach a specified amount to participate in the exchange.
She noted that the programme serves as an effort to involve consumers in the anniversary celebrations while simultaneously introducing more responsible habits regarding product packaging and the environment.
“We want Beautyinu’s birthday to be more than just a moment for us to receive well-wishes or celebrate the brand’s journey, but also an opportunity to do something together with our consumers,” Aisyah said in a statement on Tuesday, 8 September 2026.
Beauty product packaging, such as body lotion bottles, liquid soap containers, and body care vessels, tends to accumulate easily once empty. Through ‘Birthday Treats’, these containers are collected before being brought back for the exchange programme.
According to Aisyah, this approach was intentionally designed through activities that are closely integrated with consumers’ daily lives. The habit of saving packaging is expected to be an easy first step.
“This programme is designed to be as simple as possible. Rather than packaging being thrown away one by one, we want to invite consumers to start saving and returning them. When done together, these small habits can feel much more meaningful,” she added.
This programme also brings environmental issues closer to self-care activities, which have long been a part of Beautyinu’s communication. This initiative aligns with the ‘Glow & Grow’ social activities, which includes ‘Beautyinu Green Care’ as one of its pillars of environmental concern.
Aisyah stated that a daily habit-based approach was chosen so that environmental issues are easier for consumers to implement. In this programme, the act of saving empty packaging serves as a form of direct participation.
