LNSW provides API access options for service users from 1 September

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Single Window (LNSW) of the Ministry of Finance will provide Application Programming Interface (API) access options for the Indonesia National Single Window (SINSW) services starting 1 September 2026.

“We all realise that speed and ease of transactions are highly needed today, as time efficiency will impact cost efficiency,” said the Director of Information Technology at LNSW, Wawan Ismawandi, in a written statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

An API is an integration mechanism between systems that allows the use of SINSW services directly from a service user’s own system. Previously, service users could only utilise SINSW services through a web-based interface.

With the implementation of the API, an additional access mechanism is now available for service users who possess in-house systems that can be integrated directly with the SINSW.

The Head of the Sub-directorate of Information System Planning at LNSW, Fachry Rozy Oemar, explained that the development of API services in SINSW was also driven by feedback from existing service users.

Service users with very high volumes of export and import transactions, particularly those managing thousands of commodities in a single transaction, have faced challenges in the document submission process through SINSW services. This is because transaction data is typically already stored in the users’ respective in-house systems, necessitating significant effort to submit large volumes of data through the SINSW portal.

Furthermore, service users require access to the latest information regarding export and import trade regulations, which was previously only accessible via the Indonesia National Trade Repository (INTR) on the INSW portal.

The implementation of the API allows users’ systems to integrate directly with SINSW through the API Catalogue platform, which is collaborated with the Single Sign On Next Generation mechanism.

“The SINSW API Catalogue will become the standard process for integrating external systems with SINSW, ensuring that inter-system collaboration is faster, secure, and reliable, while also serving as a system integration documentation repository available to all interested parties,” he added.
