LNSW Launches New System to Streamline Export-Import Processes

The National Single Window (LNSW) has opened system integration services for export and import businesses since 1 September 2026, through the opening of Application Programming Interface (API) access for the Indonesia National Single Window (SINSW) system.

This service is implemented in accordance with the Regulation of the Head of the National Single Window Agency Number Per-1/LNSW/2026 regarding the Procedures for Granting Access to Service Users Using the Indonesia National Single Window System via Application Programming Interface (Perka API).

LNSW Director of Information Technology, Wawan Ismawandi, revealed that the SINSW API system was initially used by relevant Ministries and Agencies (K/L) to support a more standardised, effective, and efficient service integration process that can be developed according to business needs and the evolution of SINW services.

“The SINSW acts as an integrator or hub for the systems and duties of relevant Ministries/Agencies related to the business processes of exports, imports, and logistics,” Wawan stated during an exclusive interview with CNBC Indonesia at the LNSW Office, Jakarta, on Wednesday (16/9/2026).

Over the past two years, requests to use the SINSW API have emerged from business actors seeking to simplify administrative and licensing processes in export, import, and logistics activities. Consequently, LNSW opened the API service for businesses at the beginning of this September.

Wawan explained that with the availability of the API, business actors no longer need to manually input administrative data through the SINSW portal, as it is now handled through a single gateway via the API.

He also emphasised that there is no specific business scale classification or requirement to use the SINSW API service. The only requirement is that the business must already possess its own integrated administrative system, which can then be facilitated through the single gateway via the SINSW API.

Wawan noted that with the SINSW API, businesses no longer need the hassle of entering data one by one as they did when filling out administrative data on the SINSW portal; instead, company data is directly integrated and inputted more practically.

Furthermore, service users also require access to the latest information regarding export and import trade regulations, which previously could only be accessed through the Indonesia National Trade Repository (INTR) on the INSW portal.

With the implementation of the API, users’ systems will be able to integrate directly with the SINSW via the API Catalogue platform, which is collaborated with the Single Sign On Next Generation mechanism.

The SINSW API Catalogue serves as the standard for integrating external systems with the SINSW, ensuring that inter-system collaboration is faster, secure, and reliable, while also acting as a documentation repository for system integration available to all interested parties.

The development of API services within the SINSW was driven by feedback from service users who have been utilising SINSW services.

Users with very high volumes of export and import transactions, particularly those managing thousands of commodities in a single transaction, faced challenges in the document submission process through SINSW services.

This issue arose because large transaction datasets are generally stored within the users’ respective in-house systems, necessitating significant effort to submit such large volumes of data when applying through SINSW.
