LMPV Discounts in May 2026 Reach Rp 28 Million
JAKARTA - The low multi-purpose vehicle (LMPV) market, or affordable seven-passenger family cars, is once again enlivened by aggressive discount programmes in May 2026. Several brands are offering price cuts to stimulate sales, particularly for models that have been on the market longer or have stock from previous production years. This phenomenon reflects the increasingly fierce competition in the LMPV segment, which has long been the backbone of family cars in Indonesia. “There are no discounts for the Veloz yet. For the Avanza, the discount is Rp 16 million,” said one Toyota salesperson to Kompas.com on Sunday (3/5/2026). From another Japanese manufacturer, Suzuki is providing even more competitive offers for the Ertiga, especially for units with vehicle identification numbers (NIK) from 2026. “For the Ertiga, currently only the GL type is available with a Rp 28 million discount. This is for NIK 2026; the 2025 NIK stock is already sold out,” said a Suzuki salesperson. Meanwhile, Mitsubishi Motors is still offering price reductions for the Xpander. The amount is in the mid-range but remains attractive for consumers seeking family cars with complete features. “(Xpander) NIK 2026, discount of around Rp 15 million,” said one Mitsubishi salesperson. Daihatsu, on the other hand, continues to provide more moderate incentives for the Xenia. The discount amount is considered standard compared to its competitors in the class. “For the Xenia, discount of Rp 10 million,” said one Daihatsu salesperson. This situation presents an opportunity for consumers looking to buy an LMPV at a more affordable price. Nevertheless, prospective buyers should still consider other factors such as features, usage needs, and resale value before making a decision.
