LKPP continues to refine concept for Government Procurement Agency

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Public Procurement Agency (LKPP) is currently refining the concept for the Government Procurement Agency (BPP) as proposed by President Prabowo Subianto.

During a working meeting with Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Jakarta on Wednesday, the Head of LKPP, Sarah Sadiante, reported that the agency is preparing for the formation of the BPP by first utilising existing human resources and available budgets.

However, she noted that the LKPP budget proposed for 2027 does not yet include the requirements for establishing the BPP, as the institutional concept is still in the refinement stage. The budgetary requirements for the BPP will be calculated further in line with the progress of its implementation.

“Therefore, the budget we have requested for 2027 does not yet include this BPP. However, we have calculated that even if the BPP is established, we will first utilise all existing resources,” she stated.

The utilisation of available resources is considered capable of supporting the initial operational phase of the BPP.

Sarah mentioned that there are currently approximately 20,000 procurement professionals who are certified and distributed across ministries, agencies, and local governments.

“So, to simply get things moving, the certified procurement human resources available today consist of about 20,000 people spread across ministries and local governments,” she added.
