Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Government Procurement Policy Agency (LKPP) has brought together 16 ministries and agencies (K/L) responsible for priority programmes and business representatives at Business Matching 2026, to align government procurement needs with suppliers’ capabilities.

LKPP Head Sarah Sadiqa said targeted procurement of goods and services was important to accelerate the implementation of the Government’s priority programmes, including the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme and the Merah Putih Village Cooperatives (KDMP).

“Government spending on procurement of goods and services in the 2026 fiscal year is estimated to reach Rp929.4 trillion, equivalent to 30 per cent of total state budget expenditure. This gives procurement considerable leverage over the direction of national development,” Sarah said at the opening of Business Matching 2026 in Jakarta on Wednesday.

She said procurement decisions not only determined which goods and services the Government bought, but also affected business opportunities, production activity, job creation and the strengthening of domestic industry.

According to Sarah, implementing the Government’s priority programmes requires the availability of quality goods and services, sufficient production capacity, reliable distribution, and suppliers able to meet specifications and deadlines.

Procurement needs must therefore be identified from the outset, alongside an assessment of product availability and supplier capacity.

Potential obstacles in production, distribution and compliance with specifications must also be anticipated so they do not impede programme implementation.
