Depok (ANTARA) - The National News Agency (LKBN) ANTARA has received two awards from the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) during the celebration of the agency’s 80th anniversary, themed “Cyber Sovereignty Strengthens National Resilience.”

BSSN Head Lieutenant General TNI (Ret.) Nugroho Sulistyo Budi stated that the awards were given to the media on this occasion marking eight decades of BSSN, recognising the media’s significant role in building public awareness about cyber security.

“On this occasion, we are presenting awards to the media for contributing alongside BSSN to building digital security literacy in the public sphere,” Sulistyo said in his address at the BSSN 80th anniversary celebration at the BSSN office on Monday.

Sulistyo emphasised that building awareness about cyber security cannot be achieved by BSSN alone, given Indonesia’s vast population.

With media having wide reach, the role of fostering digital literacy can be carried out through collaboration, ultimately allowing public awareness of cyber security issues to grow more easily.

During the BSSN 80th anniversary, LKBN ANTARA received awards in the form of the Anugerah Media Produktif and Anugerah Karya Jurnalistik.

For the Anugerah Media Produktif category, LKBN ANTARA received this award for actively reporting information and increasing public awareness regarding cyber security and cryptography.

LKBN ANTARA was also recorded as actively providing coverage of BSSN programmes throughout the past year, with an accumulated total of 990 news items.

Furthermore, ANTARA also received an award in the Anugerah Karya Jurnalistik category, given to Livia Kristianti for reporting on BSSN programmes.

In addition to ANTARA, BSSN also presented the Anugerah Media Produktif to other media outlets such as Tribunnews.com, Kompas.com, Detik.com, and CNN Indonesia.

The Anugerah Karya Jurnalistik was also given to two other reporters, namely Fidelis Batalinus (Garuda TV) and Abdi Ryanda Shakti (Tribunnews.com).

Finally, there were also awards given to reporters covering the Tracing Back the 80th BSSN Anniversary event; these awards were presented by BSSN to Kukuh Setyono (Liputan6.com Yogyakarta), Maulana Muhammad Fahmi (Suara Merdeka), and Andik Sismanto (Metrosemarang.com).
