The isbat session to determine the start of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah was held on Tuesday, 17 February 2026. The public was able to watch the proceedings and results of the isbat session directly through official live streaming channels provided by the government.

The session represents a significant moment as it determines the start of the Ramadan fasting period for Muslims in Indonesia. Isbat Session Agenda

According to official information from the Directorate General of Islamic Community Guidance (Bimas Islam) at Kemenag, the isbat session for the start of Ramadan 1447 H was held at Hotel Borobudur. The venue was selected to accommodate capacity requirements, having been moved from the original plan to hold it at the HM Rasjidi Auditorium at the Kemenag building on Jalan MH Thamrin, Jakarta.

The isbat session proceedings began at 16:30 Western Indonesian Time (WIB) with a public seminar on the hilal (crescent moon) position, which was broadcast live. This was followed at 18:30 WIB by the closed isbat deliberation session. The results were subsequently announced through a press conference at 19:05 WIB.

Through the live broadcast, the public was able to officially learn the outcome of the determination of the start of Ramadan 1447 H, which serves as the reference point for the observance of fasting in Indonesia. The government urged the public to await the official announcement delivered after the completion of the isbat session.
