The Isbat hearing will be held on Thursday, 19 March 2026, at the HM Rasjidi Auditorium, Kemenag RI Office, Jakarta. Schedule for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr Isbat Hearing The Isbat hearing begins at 4:00 PM WIB with a seminar presenting the crescent moon’s position by the Kemenag Hisab Rukyat Team. Afterwards, participants will break their fast together before entering the closed hearing. This meeting will take place after receiving rukyatulhilal reports from 117 observation points across Indonesia, expected to run from 6:45 PM to 7:30 PM WIB. The results of the Isbat hearing are usually announced before Isha prayer through a press conference that is also broadcast live. Flow of the Isbat Hearing: From Seminar to Announcement Director General of Islamic Community Guidance at Kemenag, Abu Rokhmad, explained that the Isbat hearing starts with a seminar on the crescent moon’s position, followed by a closed hearing. “As usual, the Isbat hearing begins with a seminar presenting the crescent moon’s position by the Ministry of Religious Affairs Hisab Rukyat Team. This is then followed by a closed hearing to discuss the rukyatulhilal results received from various regions, before finally being announced to the public,” he said. The hearing will be attended by various parties, from ambassadors of friendly countries, the DPR, the Supreme Court, MUI, to institutions such as BMKG, BIG, BRIN, and falak experts. Prediction for Eid 2026 Based on hisab calculations, the crescent moon’s position on 29 Ramadan 1447 H is in the range of 0°54’ to 3°7’, with an elongation of 4°32’ to 6°06’. This data indicates that the crescent moon is potentially not visible, but the decision still awaits rukyatulhilal results from various regions. If the crescent is sighted, Eid al-Fitr 2026 could fall on Friday, 20 March 2026. Conversely, if not sighted, Ramadan will be completed to 30 days, so Eid will fall on Saturday, 21 March 2026.
