Live streaming host solicits gifts from viewers, 'naked' punishment for challenge losers
Jakarta metropolitan police have arrested a man identified as SR (39), a live streaming host on a social media account that broadcast pornographic content. The suspect encouraged viewers to participate as talents in the live streams. ‘The suspect, who is the host on the account, used it to invite talents— women—who would perform challenges on the app,’ said Police Commissioner Imanuel Sinaga, head of Unit 1, Subdivision 2 of the Cyber Crime Directorate at Jakarta metropolitan police, during a press conference on Tuesday (26 May 2026). ’ The suspect created challenges where participants who lost were required to perform specific movements for 10 seconds, resulting in pornographic content,’ he added. ‘When viewers sent gifts or ’tap-tapped’ the screen, there was a reward or punishment,’ he said. ‘Initially, the talents were clothed, but during challenges, if they lost, they had to jump until their clothes came off,’ he added. The suspect carried out these activities to boost his popularity. He admitted to live streaming for three years, profiting from cashing out gifts received via digital wallet accounts. The case was uncovered through cyber patrols by Jakarta metropolitan police’s Cyber Crime Directorate. SR has been named a suspect and detained. He faces charges under Article 407(1) of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP) for producing, broadcasting, disseminating, or providing pornographic content, which carries a minimum six-month and maximum ten-year prison sentence.
