Little people's education
Little people's education
From Media Indonesia
The little people, who make up more than 50 percent of
Indonesia's population, are people in the middle to lower
classes.
It is a reality that Indonesia is still embroiled in a variety
of problems. One of these problems lies in the educational field.
Of course, the government has tried to address the problem in
the education sector. One of the efforts made is to privatize
education. The question is whether or not this privatization is
the right solution.
Unfortunately, to most people in the category of the little
people, a dream to study at good schools or up to the highest
level has remained a mere dream because the cost to enjoy
education, even at state-owned educational facilities, is
soaring.
The government, as the authority that must be responsible for
the education of the people, must give free education to everyone
so that Indonesia's rich human resources will be educated.
Otherwise, education will be too expensive to most people and
Indonesia will have a young but uneducated generation.
