Little Levina was not raped, police say

JAKARTA (JP): Although the six-year-old Levina Dwisy, whose
body was found at Ancol, North Jakarta, in late March was not
raped by her attacker she was sexually molested, according to a
police officer.

"The autopsy report issued by the Cipto Mangunkusumo General
Hospital (RSCM) states that there is no evidence that the girl
was raped before her death," deputy to the chief of crime
investigation unit of the North Jakarta police precinct, First
Lt. R. Rasyidi, told reporters on Wednesday.

The report does state, though, that a blunt object had been
inserted into the vagina of the kindergarten student.

"However, we have not yet found any suspects in connection
with the murder of this little girl," Rasyidi said.

Earlier press quoted police sources as saying the girl was
murdered after being raped.

Late last month, chief of the North Jakarta police precinct,
Lt. Col. Heru Susanto, claimed the lover of Levina's father had
commissioned the murder.

During police questioning, Levina's father named two women as
his close friends.

"However, we found no evidence to connect the two ladies with
the murder," Heru said.

Heru believed that there is a woman who had a special
relationship with Levina's father but had been angry with him for
some reason.

"Perhaps, the lady who had fallen in love with him found later
that the man was a married guy," he added.

"Unfortunately, Levina's father did not want to tell us the
truth about his love affairs," Heru said.

Nobody

When asked about the latest progress of the investigation,
Rasyidi, who is close to the case, said: "Just ask the chief, but
so far we've arrested nobody."

Rasyidi also claimed that police investigators have not been
bribed by anyone, including Levina's father, to stop their
investigation.

"We haven't stopped investigating and we always report every
inch of a new development to our chief," he said.

Levina, the second of three children of an ethnic Chinese
bicycle shop owner, left her house on Jl. Pantai Sanur in the
plush Ancol Timur real estate in the morning of March 24.

Wearing her pajamas, the little girl tried to join her parents
in their morning exercise with her bike. It was the last time she
was seen alive. Levina was found under the bushes near a temple
the next morning.

He attacker had obviously used her clothes to strangle her.
Her bicycle was found nearby.

At least 13 people have been questioned including two
fishermen living nearby, the housemaids and the driver of the
victim's family as well as the security guards at the elite
housing complex where the deceased's parents live.

Five special teams have been set up to investigate. Each team
has been assigned to conduct a specific task. (bsr)
