List of Samsung Phones Set to Receive One UI 8.5 and Their Update Release Schedule
Samsung’s latest interface, One UI 8.5, has officially debuted with the launch of the Galaxy S26 series. After its introduction on the flagship line, Samsung is reportedly rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update to various other Galaxy devices gradually from March 2026. Previously, Samsung opened a beta programme for One UI 8.5 in several countries since 8 December 2025 to test its new features. Unlike the ‘.5’ updates in previous versions, which typically carried minor refinements, One UI 8.5 is described as one of Samsung’s major updates in recent years.
This update has two main focuses: Ambient Design with a Frosted Glass visual style and integration of Perplexity AI into the Bixby virtual assistant. The distribution of the stable One UI 8.5 build is confirmed to begin in March 2026 and will be rolled out gradually, starting with the latest flagship line before expanding to older-generation devices and mid-range series. Below is the list of Samsung phones expected to receive the One UI 8.5 update and its release schedule. Current monitoring shows that the One UI 8.5 update based on Android 16 is not yet available in Indonesia. However, Galaxy phone users can regularly check for updates via Settings > Software update > Download and install.
One of the most noticeable changes is the Frosted Glass UI design, a layered transparency effect that makes the interface feel deeper and more modern. The system panel, quick settings, widgets, and the lock screen now appear more vibrant as they adapt to the wallpaper used.
In terms of artificial intelligence, Samsung is updating Bixby with the integration of Perplexity AI. This integration enables Bixby to understand commands more naturally and to follow longer conversational contexts. The feature is currently in beta and is scheduled to appear fully in the stable One UI 8.5.
Samsung also enhances Photo Assist, particularly for users who enjoy editing photos. In One UI 8.5, users can perform continuous image edits without needing to manually save every change. After finishing edits, users simply save the final result and can immediately see a comparison between the original photo and the edited one.
The experience of sharing edited results is made smoother via Quick Share. This feature is now smarter as it can recognise faces in photos and automatically recommends contacts who may want to receive the file.
One UI 8.5 also brings several improvements to file sharing and communication. One of them is Audio Broadcast, which allows users to broadcast audio to nearby devices. This feature already supports LE Audio with Auracast, so in addition to sending audio from media, users can also broadcast audio directly from the Galaxy device’s microphone. This feature is considered suitable for activities such as group tours or community events.
