List of Regional Heads Caught in KPK Sting Operations During 2026
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has arrested ten regional heads in sting operations (OTT) throughout 2026. The cases involve a variety of corruption schemes, including extortion, gratification, and the buying and selling of positions. The arrested officials include the Mayor of Madiun, Maidi, for alleged extortion of CSR funds; the Regent of Pati, Sudewo, for alleged extortion related to village official appointments; and the Regent of Pekalongan, Fadia Arafiq, for alleged corruption in the procurement of outsourcing services. Other notable arrests include the Regent of Rejang Lebong, Muhammad Fikri Tobari, for alleged bribery related to project allocations, and the Regent of Cilacap, Syamsul Auliya Rachman, for allegedly soliciting holiday bonuses. The KPK also apprehended the Regent of Tulungagung, Gatut Sunu Wibowo, for alleged extortion, the Regent of Muara Enim, Edison, for alleged bribery and gratification, and the Regent of Kuantan Singingi, Suhardiman Amby, for alleged bribery in the sale of positions. The most recent operation saw the arrest of Langkat Regent Syah Afandin for alleged project bribery.
