List of Red Dates and National Holidays in April 2026, Including a Long Weekend!
Entering April 2026, the public will once again enjoy national holidays. However, unlike some other months, the government has not designated any joint leave days this month. Based on the Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB) of Three Ministers on National Holidays and Joint Leave for 2026, there are only two red dates in April related to religious celebrations, namely Friday, 3 April 2026 for the Death of Jesus Christ (Good Friday) and Sunday, 5 April 2026 as the Day of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ (Easter). Although limited in number, the positioning of these holidays is advantageous as they are close to the weekend. The Good Friday holiday falling on a Friday allows the public to enjoy a long weekend for three consecutive days, namely: - Friday, 3 April 2026: Good Friday - Saturday, 4 April 2026: Weekend holiday - Sunday, 5 April 2026: Easter. Thus, early April becomes the first long holiday moment after the Eid al-Fitr period. Nevertheless, no joint leave has been set by the government for April 2026. This means workers will not receive additional holidays beyond the red dates. As a note, joint leave rules differ between workers and Civil Servants (ASN). For private sector employees or workers, joint leave generally reduces their annual leave quota according to company policy. Meanwhile, for ASN, joint leave does not reduce their annual leave rights.
