List of Public Service Sectors Exempt from Friday Work-from-Home in Jakarta, Here are the Details

JAKARTA - The work-from-home (WFH) policy for civil servants (ASN) every Friday in DKI Jakarta does not apply to all sectors. Several public services are still required to work from the office (WFO). Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung said that his administration is preparing technical regulations to ensure the WFH policy does not disrupt services to the public. “We will detail who is allowed to work from home on Fridays,” Pramono said in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (1/4/2026). The following are the sectors in Jakarta that do not implement WFH: He detailed that all health facilities owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will continue to operate normally, including: “Public services must not be disrupted and cannot work from home,” Pramono said. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is also preparing supervision mechanisms to prevent the WFH policy from being abused. The Regional Personnel Agency (BKD) will ensure that ASN continue to work in accordance with the provisions when implementing WFH. In addition, the local government plans to limit the use of private vehicles to encourage ASN to continue using public transportation. The Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian has mandated that several service units must continue working from the office, including: At the provincial level, high-ranking madya and pratama leadership positions are not allowed to WFH. At the district/city level, high-ranking pratama leadership positions, administrators (eselon III), sub-district heads, village heads, and village chiefs are not allowed to WFH. Thus, even though WFH is implemented every Friday, public services are ensured to run normally without disruption.
