List of Provinces Implementing Vehicle Tax Amnesty in May 2026
Several local governments in Indonesia are once again introducing motor vehicle tax amnesty programmes during May 2026. This policy provides an opportunity for the public to pay vehicle taxes without late penalties, while also simplifying the process for renewing the Vehicle Registration Certificate (STNK). The following is a list of provinces still offering vehicle tax amnesty programmes and PKB discounts in May 2026: Central Java is presenting a programme titled “Gas Jateng 5 Persen” which runs until 21 December 2026. This programme offers a 5 per cent discount on the principal Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) for vehicle owners. The policy is outlined in the Governor of Central Java’s Decree Number 100.3.3.1/43 of 2026. Some of the relief provided includes: This programme is expected to increase public awareness in paying vehicle taxes on time. Bali is also continuing its motor vehicle tax relief programme since 5 January 2026. The policy is regulated in the Bali Governor’s Regulation Number 53 of 2025 on the provision of PKB and Motor Vehicle Name Transfer Fee (BBNKB) relief. The details of the discounts are as follows: 8 per cent PKB discount for vehicles up to 200 cc. This programme is one of the local government’s efforts to encourage compliance with vehicle tax payments. Bengkulu is also holding a motor vehicle tax amnesty programme in 2026 through the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), running from 1 May to 31 August 2026. In addition, the Bengkulu Provincial Government is offering a 50 per cent discount on vehicle mutation taxes, applicable from 1 April to 31 August 2026. This policy is hoped to be utilised by the public to settle vehicle tax arrears at a lower cost.
