List of Prices for Japanese Electric Cars in Indonesia: How Much is the Cheapest?
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The breakthroughs by Chinese and South Korean brands in Indonesia’s electric vehicle (EV) market have indeed been remarkable. However, this does not mean that Japanese manufacturers are standing idle.
For consumers who still hold firm to aspects of durability and decades-tested after-sales networks, the lineup of electric cars from the Land of the Rising Sun retains its own unique appeal.
Here is a list of electric car options from Japanese manufacturers that can be acquired at present:
In the more affordable electric SUV class, competition is becoming increasingly intense. Suzuki and Toyota are now boldly competing at price levels that directly overlap with non-Japanese brands.
Toyota bZ4X: Now priced at Rp 799 million.
Toyota Urban Cruiser EV: A new alternative priced at Rp 759 million.
Suzuki e Vitara: Available in two variants, namely the GLX Single Tone at Rp 755 million and the Two Tone variant at Rp 758 million.
There is something interesting about Honda’s strategy. Unlike its rivals, PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) is offering the Honda e:N1 under a subscription or rental scheme.
This electric SUV, which shares a similar base with the HR-V, is equipped with a 68.8 kWh battery providing a range of up to 500 km (NEDC). For interested consumers, the rental cost is set at around Rp 22 million per month.
Meanwhile, Mitsubishi is focusing on the logistics sector with the Mitsubishi L100 EV. Priced at Rp 323.3 million, this vehicle is currently the most affordable Japanese EV option, targeting operational cost efficiency for business owners.
Lexus remains the main player in the premium segment, offering the characteristic Japanese luxury or Omotenashi. Two models are available:
Lexus UX 300e: Rp 1.577 billion
Lexus RZ 500e: Rp 2.488 billion
