KUNINGAN — The Special Ramadan Cheap Food Movement (Gerakan Pangan Murah) of the Kuningan District has been held daily since Monday, 23 February 2026 across three rotating locations. Rice, chicken eggs and cooking oil have become the commodities most sought after by the public.

The campaign is being implemented across three different locations each day: Seda Village (Mandirancan District), Haurkuning Village (Nusaherang District), and Kasturi Village (Kuningan District).

The Head of the Kuningan District Food Security and Agriculture Department, Wahyu Hidayah, explained that the average distribution per location amounts to between six and seven tonnes of commodities. The majority of products are quickly absorbed by the public due to high demand during Ramadan.

“In three implementation sessions, the total commodities sold approached 20 tonnes. The enthusiasm of residents is very high,” explained Wahyu on Thursday, 26 February 2026.

Wahyu noted that based on transaction data in the field, the three commodities most purchased by the public are rice, cooking oil, and chicken eggs. Additionally, granulated sugar, chicken meat, and red and white onions have also shown significant sales levels.

In each implementation session, the government prepared up to three tonnes of rice per location, approximately 300 litres of cooking oil, 250 kilogrammes of chicken eggs, 250 kilogrammes of beef, 200 kilogrammes of granulated sugar, and various horticultural commodities such as chillies and vegetables. Public response has been assessed as highly positive due to the competitive price differential compared to market rates. From the morning, residents already crowded the activity locations, and several commodities sold out before the event ended.
