List of Electricity Tariffs for 13 PLN Customer Groups, Effective 31 August
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has ensured that electricity tariffs for PT PLN (Persero) will not increase in August 2026. At least, the electricity tariffs applicable this month still refer to the government policy for the July-September 2026 period.
The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, stated that the government decided to maintain electricity tariffs to preserve public purchasing power and support national economic stability amidst global economic dynamics.
“In order to maintain public purchasing power and support national economic stability, the government has decided that electricity tariffs for the third quarter of 2026 will remain the same and will not increase,” Bahlil explained in an official statement recently, as reported on Monday (31/8/2026).
In accordance with the Minister of ESDM Regulation Number 7 of 2024, tariff adjustments for 13 non-subsidised customer groups are actually conducted every three months based on changes in four macroeconomic parameters: the Rupiah exchange rate, the Indonesian Crude Price (ICP), inflation, and the Reference Coal Price (HBA).
For the third quarter of 2026, the parameters used are the realised figures from the February-April 2026 period, which recorded an exchange rate of Rp16,959.32 per US$, an ICP of US$96.12 per barrel, inflation of 0.21%, and an HBA of US$70 per tonne (in accordance with the coal Domestic Market Obligation/DMO policy).
Although there was potential for tariff changes based on the formula, the government decided to maintain the electricity tariffs to safeguard national economic stability.
Bahlil added that, in addition to non-subsidised customers, this policy also applies to 24 groups of subsidised customers who are also confirmed to experience no change in electricity tariffs, such as social customers, poor households, small businesses, small industries, and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
“The government is committed to providing reliable, affordable, and equitable electricity. This fixed tariff policy is part of the effort to maintain economic stability while ensuring that electricity services remain sustainable,” said BHL.
Below is the list of electricity tariffs for 13 non-subsidised customers during the third quarter of 2026:
Group R-1/TR, power 900 VA, Rp 1,352 per kWh.
Group R-1/TR, power 1,300 VA, Rp 1,445 per kWh.
Group R-1/TR, power 2,200 VA, Rp 1,445 per kWh.
Group R-2/TR, power 3,500-5,500 VA, Rp 1,700 per kWh.
Group R-3/TR, power 6,600 VA and above, Rp 1,700 per kWh.
Group B-2/TR, power 6,600 VA-200 kVA, Rp 1,445 per kWh.
Group B-3/Medium Voltage (TM), power above 200 kVA, Rp 1,122 per kWh.
Group I-3/TM, power above 200 kVA, Rp 1,122 per kWh.
Group I-4/High Voltage (TT), power 30,000 kVA and above, Rp 997 per kWh.
Group P-1/TR, power 6,600 VA-200 kVA, Rp 1,700 per kWh.
Group P-2/TM, power above 200 kVA, Rp 1,533 per kWh.
Group P-3/TR for public street lighting, Rp 1,700 per kWh.
Group L/TR, TM, TT, Rp 1,645 per kWh.
