List of Electric Cars Assembled by VinFast in Indonesia
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – VinFast has confirmed that its electric vehicle plant in Subang, West Java, is fully operational, with the VinFast VF MPV 7 as the first model produced. VinFast Indonesia Chief Executive Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto said the company will also produce several other models for the Indonesian market, namely the VinFast Limo Green and the VinFast VF 3.
‘Our Subang factory is now fully operating. The VF MPV 7 is the first product produced at Subang, followed by the Limo Green and later the VF 3,’ Kariyanto said in Jakarta on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. ‘Initially we had planned VF 3 first. But given demand, we are prioritising the VF MPV 7, then the Limo Green, and VF 3 will follow.’
Kariyanto explained that production at the Subang facility had actually begun in early 2026 through a trial production phase. Over the past few months, VinFast has conducted evaluations and quality refinements before the vehicles were shipped to customers. ‘Production began on a trial basis in January 2026. But from January to March-April, we conducted evaluations and so on, so supply began this week,’ he said.
As the distribution of locally assembled units begins, VinFast vehicles are now being delivered to dealer networks across Indonesia. ‘So from this week, we are starting to supply dealers throughout Indonesia so that customers not only in Jakarta can start to see them,’ Kariyanto said.
In the initial phase, the facility is projected to produce several electric vehicle models for the domestic market, including the Limo Green, VF 3, and VF MPV 7.
For information, VinFast’s Subang plant sits on around 170 hectares of land with an investment of US$300 million, equivalent to around Rp 4.8 trillion. In addition to meeting domestic demand, the facility is being prepared as a base for VinFast’s export of electric vehicles to Southeast Asia.
