JAKARTA – Entering the second quarter of 2026, the competitive landscape for electric cars in Indonesia is heating up. Not only enlivened by a growing array of new models, the price movements at the start of April also serve as an important signal for prospective consumers looking to switch to emission-free vehicles.

Based on Kompas.com’s monitoring from various official sources and dealers, the majority of manufacturers are still maintaining stable prices.

However, there are interesting dynamics in the premium segment and some volume-maker models that have experienced slight adjustments, either due to the latest Vehicle Identification Number (NIK) or market positioning strategies.

The BMW iX xDrive45 with NIK 2025 is now priced at Rp 2.639 billion, a slight increase from the previous Rp 2.628 billion. The same applies to their top-tier sedan, the BMW i7 xDrive60 (NIK 2025), which now reaches Rp 3.429 billion.

Price movements are also occurring at BYD. As one of the aggressive players this year, BYD has been observed raising prices on their popular SUV model, Atto 3 Advanced.

For those considering purchasing an electric car this month, it is important to pay attention to variant details and offered schemes, such as the battery rental system popularised by VinFast and Polytron. This scheme has proven effective in significantly reducing the initial vehicle selling price.

The affordable electric car segment is now increasingly crowded with the arrival of the VinFast VF 3 and Wuling Air EV Lite, which are competing tightly in the Rp 150 million to Rp 200 million range. Meanwhile, for performance enthusiasts, the presence of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N and MG Cyberster in the Rp 1.3 billion to Rp 1.7 billion range adds new colour to the fast electric car scene in Indonesia.
