List of Busiest KRL Stations on the Eve of Eid, Bogor Station Still Tops the List
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The situation for Commuter Line users in the Jabodetabek region was observed to be quiet on the eve of Eid, Friday (20/3/2026). Nevertheless, train services continued to operate normally with 1,065 trips across all Jabodetabek lines to support public mobility for those still active in the capital.
VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Karina Amanda, stated that up to 3:00 PM WIB, the total volume of Commuter Line users in Jabodetabek was recorded at 170,485 people.
“That user volume experienced a decline compared to previous days at the start of the joint leave period. This decline is influenced by the joint leave period and the Eid mudik flow, which local travellers have already undertaken in the past few days,” Karina said when contacted by Kompas.com on Friday.
Based on KAI Commuter data, several stations still recorded the highest user volumes despite the generally quiet situation.
Bogor Station served 12,210 people, followed by Tanah Abang Station with 8,557 people, and Sudirman Station with 6,064 people.
Meanwhile, the Basoetta Commuter Line service (Soekarno-Hatta Airport) recorded 3,015 users.
The high numbers heading to the airport align with the increasing interest among the public in mudik travel via air transport during this year’s peak mudik period.
For the Merak Commuter Line service, there were 5,127 users recorded, with the densest point at Rangkasbitung Station.
Karina added that the Merak Commuter Line trips currently serve the Rangkasbitung–Cilegon route, where passengers can continue their journey to Merak Port using free shuttles.
Observations at the locations showed no long queues at ticket gates or pushing and shoving on the platforms when trains arrived.
A passenger from Tebet, Rahmi (32), said this condition made the journey feel much more comfortable.
“Now it’s much nicer, no need for crowding and I can walk leisurely,” she said.
Rizal (29), a resident of Matraman, expressed the same sentiment, feeling no need to compete to enter the train carriages due to the ample capacity at present.
