Indonesia’s Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) has recorded nine sting operations targeting regional heads over the past 17 months, from October 2024 when Prabowo Subianto assumed office as President until March 2026. These arrests began in Southeast Sulawesi in August 2025 and continued through the most recent operation in Rejang Lebong Regency in March 2026.

The following is the complete list of regional heads arrested by the KPK during President Prabowo’s administration:

  1. Regent of East Kolaka Abdul Azis

The first regional head arrested was Abdul Azis, Regent of East Kolaka from the National Democrat Party. He had assumed office only on 20 February 2025 before his arrest on 8 August 2025 in coordinated operations across Southeast Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, and Jakarta. Abdul Azis was designated as a suspect along with four others, including health ministry officials and contractors involved in a regional general hospital construction project. The KPK later added three additional suspects in November 2025, including ministry staff and consultants acting as intermediaries between contractors and government officials. All were charged with bribery related to the hospital construction project in East Kolaka.

  1. Governor of Riau Abdul Wahid

The KPK arrested Riau Governor Abdul Wahid on 3 November 2025 at a café in Riau, securing 10 individuals and seizing 1.6 billion rupiah in various currencies. Abdul Wahid was accused of receiving 4.05 billion rupiah in irregular budget allocation fees from the Public Works and Infrastructure Department between June and November 2025. He was designated as a suspect alongside two others, with his aide later also charged in connection with alleged extortion allegations.

  1. Regent of Ponorogo Sugiri Sancoko

On 7 November 2025, the KPK arrested Regent of Ponorogo Sugiri Sancoko on suspicion of bribery related to the appointment of a hospital director and procurement projects valued at 14 billion rupiah. Evidence of 500 million rupiah was seized. The KPK identified four suspects, including the regent, the district secretary, the hospital director, and a private contractor involved in hospital projects.

  1. Regent of Central Lampung Ardito Wijaya

Ardito Wijaya, Regent of Central Lampung, was arrested on 10 December 2025 on charges related to goods and services procurement corruption. He was accused of receiving 5.25 billion rupiah in fees from contractors through district assembly members and his brother, plus an additional 500 million rupiah for conditioning a medical equipment procurement auction. Five individuals were designated as suspects, including the regent, assembly members, his brother, and a director of a private company.

  1. Regent of Bekasi Ade Kunang

The KPK arrested Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang on 18 December 2025 in a night-time operation that netted 10 individuals. Kunang was accused of regularly requesting project advances (ijon) from a private sector provider through his father and others. The total advances allegedly provided reached substantial sums, indicating a systematic pattern of corruption.
