List of 9 Cement Factories in Indonesia, Brands, and Ownership
The cement industry serves as one of the mainstays of infrastructure development in Indonesia. With the increasing demand for construction, various cement companies, both state-owned and private, operate in several regions with large production capacities. Some of these private companies are registered as foreign investment companies (PMA). The following is a list of cement factories in Indonesia, complete with their product brands and share ownership, compiled from the SIMPK (Construction Materials and Equipment Information System) of the Ministry of Public Works: Several entities and their factory locations include PT Semen Padang in Padang, West Sumatra; PT Semen Gresik in Tuban, East Java; PT Semen Tonasa in Pangkep, South Sulawesi; and PT Semen Baturaja Tbk in Baturaja, South Sumatra. Another cement company under SIG is PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk, formerly known as Holcim. This company operates cement factories in Narogong (West Java), Cilacap (Central Java), Tuban (East Java), and Lhoknga (Aceh). PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk is Indonesia’s largest private cement producer, known for the Semen Tiga Roda brand. The company has factories in Citeureup, Bogor; Palimanan, Cirebon; and Tarjun, South Kalimantan. Indocement was originally part of the Salim Group business but its majority ownership has shifted to Heidelberg Materials AG. The factory locations of PT Cemindo Gemilang are in Bayah, Banten, and Ciwandan, Cilegon. PT Cemindo Gemilang is known to be owned by Martua Sitorus through his company in Singapore, WH Investments Pte. Ltd. PT Conch Cement Indonesia is part of a company originating from China operating in Indonesia. This cement market dominates outside Java, particularly in South Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, and West Papua. PT Conch Cement Indonesia is owned by Anhui Conch Cement Company Limited, a leading cement company from China, which is also known as one of the world’s largest cement producers. PT Jui Shin Indonesia is known through the Semen Garuda product. Its factory is located in Karawang, West Java. PT Jui Shin Indonesia was established in Indonesia in 2001. This Chinese-origin company initially produced ceramics, namely Garuda Tile, since its founding in 2001, then expanded into the cement industry by producing cement under the Garuda Cement brand since 2014.
