List of 7 Hajj-Umrah Travel Agencies Examined by KPK Today
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has scheduled examinations of seven witnesses from Hajj and Umrah travel agencies or travel agents in Jakarta and East Java on Wednesday (8/4).
This examination relates to the investigation of the alleged corruption case concerning the 2023-2024 Hajj quota.
Three witnesses will be examined at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in South Jakarta. They are Hud Rifki Assegaf, Director of PT Madani Prabu Jaya; Andi Ahmad Baharuddin, President Director of PT An Naba International; and Khairuddin Sallu, Director of PT Ananda Dar Al Haromain.
Meanwhile, the other four witnesses will be examined by the KPK at the East Java Provincial Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) Office. They are Nana Roesdiyana, Director of PT Al Madinah Mutiara Sunnah; Fatichotun Nayiroh, President Director of PT Aliston Buana Wisata; Nawali Aswar, Director of PT Barokah Dua Putri Mandiri; and Bambang Kuswanto, Director of PT Kamilah Wisata Muslim.
Previously, on 6-7 April 2026, the KPK had examined four witnesses.
Namely, witness Christ Maharani Handayani, Director of PT Al Aqsha Jisru Dakwah and Director of PT Edipeni Travel, who was questioned regarding the mechanism for filling the special Hajj quota from the additional Hajj quota. She was examined on 7 April 2026.
As well as three witnesses examined on 6 April 2026, namely Ali Farihin, Operational Manager of PT Adzikra; Ahmad Fauzan, General Manager of PT Aero Globe Indonesia; and Eko Martino Wafa Afizputro, President Director of PT Afiz Nurul Qolbi (ANUBI).
The KPK is questioning matters related to quota filling and alleged unlawful or illegal gains in managing the 2023-2024 Hajj quota.
The KPK has named four suspects in this case.
They are former Minister of Religious Affairs of Indonesia for the 2019-2024 period, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas; Special Staff to Yaqut, Ishfah Abidal Aziz alias Gus Alex; Ismail Adham, Operational Director of PT Makassar Toraja (Maktour); and Asrul Azis Taba, Commissioner of PT Raudah Eksati Utama and Chairman of the Kesthuri Association.
Yaqut and Ishfah have been detained at the State Detention House (Rutan), while Ismail and Asrul have not yet been detained.
The KPK has identified more than 300 travel agencies involved in the additional Hajj quota. Several travel agencies are hesitant to provide statements regarding the practice of buying and selling additional Hajj quotas.
The KPK is using Article 2 paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 of the Corruption Eradication Law (UU Tipikor) juncto Article 55 paragraph (1) first of the Criminal Code or as referred to in Article 603 or Article 604 of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code juncto Article 20 letter (c) of the Criminal Code Law. These articles relate to state financial losses.
Based on calculations by the State Audit Agency (BPK) RI audit team, the alleged corruption case in the 2023-2024 Hajj quota is suspected to have caused state financial losses of Rp622 billion.
