List of 32 Names Allegedly Involved in MBG Corruption Goes Viral, Lawyer Sony Sonjaya Reveals Unexpected Facts

The controversy surrounding a list of names allegedly linked to the corruption case of the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG) has heated up again. After circulating widely on social media, the legal counsel for former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Sony Sonjaya, Elza Syarief, finally spoke out regarding the list of 32 names that has been widely discussed by the public. Elza asserted that the list did not come from her client. In fact, she admitted that her team has never received information about the list of 32 names directly from Sony Sonjaya. “The 32 names came from the prosecutors, and I have not received any information from the client,” she said on Sunday, 14 June 2026. The statement emerged amid intense speculation about parties suspected of also enjoying the flow of funds in the MBG governance corruption case currently being investigated by the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung). Previously, new developments emerged in the investigation of the alleged corruption case in the governance of the Free Nutritious Meals Programme at the National Nutrition Agency. Former Deputy Head of BGN, Sony Sonjaya, who is now a suspect, has chosen to take the step of becoming a Justice Collaborator (JC). Through his legal counsel, Sony is claimed to have begun disclosing information regarding other parties suspected of having connections to the case being handled by the Attorney General’s Office. Sony’s lawyer, Krisna Murti, stated that the JC application has been formally submitted to the investigators at the Attorney General’s Office. According to him, this step is a form of cooperation from his client to help uncover parties who played a larger role in the case. “Yes, it means that we are cooperating with the investigators to uncover the larger roles in the president’s programme that I mentioned earlier,” said Krisna Murti at the Kejagung Round Building in South Jakarta on Monday, 8 June 2026. Krisna emphasised that the JC application is not an attempt to avoid the legal process. On the contrary, he said, Sony is ready to be cooperative and provide the information needed by investigators in developing the case. In fact, during the examinations he has undergone, Sony is said to have already submitted dozens of names to the investigators. However, it is claimed that this number is not yet the total.
