List of 11 Foreign Tourists and Speedboat Crew Missing in Gorontalo
A joint search and rescue (SAR) team is searching for a speedboat that went missing in Tomini Bay, Gorontalo Province. The speedboat, carrying 11 foreign nationals, departed from Tojo Una-Una Regency on Friday (24/7) at around 07:30 WITA, bound for Marisa Port in Pohuwato Regency. It was expected to arrive at 11:00 WITA but had not reached its destination by 15:00 WITA.
Head of the Gorontalo SAR Office, Heriyanto, stated that the vessel was estimated to have been sailing approximately 20 nautical miles from Tojo Una-Una when contact was lost. The search operation was initially delayed due to adverse weather conditions but has since resumed with the deployment of the KN SAR Bhisma, which departed for the search location and was expected to arrive at around 19:40 WITA.
The missing individuals include 11 foreign tourists and two Indonesian crew members, identified as Ferdiansyah (29) and Arif (27). The foreign nationals are Rani Permentier (30), Mathijs Sercu (29), Jelka Van Driesum (16), Hinke Van Der (59), Age Van Driesum (18), Roeland Van Driesum (61), Matthias Prange (50), Celine Josette Menguy (52), and Ronny Josue Prange (13).
