Liquid Narcotics for E-Cigarettes Circulate in Bogor's Elite Housing Estates

The Bogor Police Narcotics Unit has uncovered the distribution of liquid narcotics for electronic cigarettes, known as ‘pod getar’, in the Gunung Putri and Citereup areas of Bogor Regency. This new type of drug is priced from Rp 6 million and was circulating in elite areas.

‘It turns out this substance has already entered the Bogor Regency area, and we found it in a region with a fairly high economic level,’ said Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto during a press conference on Monday (20/7/2016).

‘This case was discovered in the Gunung Putri and Citereup areas, where we know there are quite elite housing estates,’ he continued.

In this case, a dealer with the initials EJ was arrested, and officers seized 65 cartridges of liquid for electronic cigarettes and 70 sachets of ‘happy water’. EJ admitted to having operated in Bogor for two months.

‘The perpetrator has been distributing this for two months in the Bogor Regency area. This is quite interesting because, as we know, etomidate is very expensive. The packaging is in the form of cartridges used for vapes,’ said Wikha.

Wikha stated that the perpetrator EJ sold one cartridge containing etomidate for between Rp 4 million and Rp 6 million.

‘The market price is quite fantastic, where one cartridge costs between Rp 4 million and Rp 6 million. The one we found was priced at Rp 6 million. So you can imagine, this is used for an electronic cigarette that might only provide 40 puffs per cartridge, and it costs Rp 4 million to Rp 6 million,’ he added.
