PT Lippo General Insurance Tbk (LGI) has again recorded strong financial performance in the first half of 2026, building on its record achievements in 2025. Amid challenging macroeconomic conditions, the company managed to post record revenue and profit for the first-half period and remains on track to set another full-year performance record.

2026 marks LGI’s first year under the majority ownership of Hanwha General Insurance. LGI joined the Hanwha Group through Hanwha Life Indonesia in 2023, with the transfer of majority shareholding to Hanwha General Insurance enabling the company to maximise synergies in the general insurance business across the Group.

Compared with the first half of 2025, revenue increased by 17.5% under IFRS 4 and 33.9% under IFRS 17, while profit before tax grew by 17.0% and 10.2% respectively. Equity also strengthened under both IFRS 4 and IFRS 17, reaching Rp1.09 trillion and Rp1.12 trillion respectively, further reinforcing the foundation for LGI’s future growth.

“We have been able to build on the record performance achieved in 2025, which has continued into 2026, despite facing a challenging operating environment. With the support of Hanwha General Insurance, disciplined underwriting practices, and strong financial reporting, we remain optimistic about setting further record performances in the years ahead,” said Agus Benjamin, President Director of LGI, as quoted on Thursday (20/8).

LGI has also further strengthened its position globally with the reaffirmation of its Financial Strength Rating of A– (Excellent) from AM Best on Wednesday (19/8). The rating again confirms the strength of the company’s financial statements, disciplined risk management practices, and LGI’s ability to meet its obligations to policyholders on a sustainable basis.

Going forward, LGI will continue to focus on profitable growth, digital transformation, and customer-oriented innovation, leveraging Hanwha’s global expertise to become one of the leading general insurance companies in Indonesia.
