Lippo Denies Any Involvement in Bekasi Regent's House Purchase Case
BEKASI, KOMPAS.com – Management of PT Lippo Cikarang Tbk has issued an official statement following the summoning of Ruri, one of its employees, by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in connection with the investigation into assets owned by the inactive Bekasi Regent, Ade Kuswara Kunang.
The company asserts that the summoning is purely in the capacity of a witness for the purpose of gathering information.
This statement comes after a KPK investigative team examined a staff member from Lippo Cikarang’s legal department to delve into the technicalities of the purchase of a housing unit suspected to be related to the legal case currently being handled by the anti-corruption agency.
“The summoning was conducted in the capacity of a witness for the needs of information gathering. We fully support the efforts towards transparency and law enforcement carried out by the relevant authorities,” the management wrote on Wednesday (1/4/2026).
Lippo Cikarang explicitly denies any corporate involvement in the matter under investigation.
The company emphasises that its business operations continue to run in accordance with applicable legal corridors.
Regarding the property purchase issue that is the subject of the examination, Lippo’s side explains that the transaction was initially a standard commercial transaction following the company’s standard procedures.
However, the property unit in question is now no longer bound to the relevant parties.
Lippo Cikarang also provides clarification that this issue has no connection whatsoever to the various housing development programmes currently being undertaken by the company, including initiatives to provide housing for Low-Income Communities (MBR).
The company assures that this incident does not disrupt the progress of its other strategic projects.
Lippo Cikarang claims to remain consistent in implementing the principles of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) in every line of its business.
KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that in the examination, investigators delved into Ruri’s statements regarding the purchase of an asset in the form of one housing unit carried out by the inactive Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang.
“Investigators delved into the witness’s knowledge regarding the purchase of the asset (one housing unit) in the form of a house by Suspect ADK (Ade Kuswara Kunang),” said Budi in his statement on Wednesday (1/4/2026).
