LIPI writes Megawati's biography

JAKARTA: Three researchers of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) have been engaged in compiling a biography book about President Megawati Soekarnoputri.

Megawati's political career, up to her current position as the President, is given emphasis in the biography book.

Entitled Megawati Soekarnoputri, the Indonesian President, the biography is compiled by Rusdi Mochtar Afdal, Dwi Purwoko and Sumarno and will be published early October.

The biography book will be published in two languages, Indonesian and English, with introductory remarks written by the Governor of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas) Ermaya Suradinata, Rusdi Mochtar said.

As the first lady president in Indonesia and the second in ASEAN, Megawati is expected to attract the interest of prospective readers of the biography book, he added.

Over 10,000 copies of the biography books will be issued by the first of October this year, Rusdi Mochtar said. -- Antara
