Lion Parcel to Build New Hub in Kualanamu
Throughout 2025, Medan has been one of the key contributors to Lion Parcel’s growth in performance. Medan has become one of the cities with a stable and steadily rising rate of delivery activity year after year. Deliveries from Medan are dominated by routes to the Jabodetabek area and various cities across Sumatra, with fashion goods contributing the largest share. This pattern underscores Medan’s strong role in the regional distribution network driven by high market demand.
Owing to the high logistics demand, Lion Parcel is developing a new hub in the Jalan Arteri Kualanamu area. The facility, spanning 5,200 square metres, is designed as an integrated distribution centre to enhance operational efficiency in Medan. Its location is strategic, being close to Kualanamu International Airport and offering direct access to the Medan-Kualanamu-Tebingtinggi Toll Road.
The hub is equipped with a multi-gate loading dock to speed up loading and distribution, directly integrated with a regulated agent (RA) that has implemented security-check standards in line with applicable regulations. The RA is supported by security facilities with state-of-the-art technology including a dual-view X-ray machine, an Explosive Trace Detector (ETD) and a Walk-Through Metal Detector (WTMD).
“With this integration, we ensure that every air cargo shipment is processed more quickly, while still meeting all air cargo security requirements,” Kenny Kwanto, Chief Marketing Officer of Lion Parcel, said.
At the same event, Arif Wibowo, Lion Parcel’s Chief Sales Officer, said that Medan has a broad set of logistics needs, spanning personal shipments to the requirements of businesses and B2B customers. In line with strengthening this segment, the company introduced Corporate Referral, which opens the opportunity for the public to refer companies to become Lion Parcel corporate clients.
“The programme offers commissions of up to Rp5 million for each successful referral. This is the company’s strategy to broaden its corporate client network. We will balance expansion with operational readiness so that service quality and customer trust remain intact,” Arif said.
Operational readiness is increasingly crucial during the peak Ramadan period and ahead of Eid al-Fitr. Lion Parcel is reinforcing operational aspects by increasing warehouse capacity, fleets and temporary staff in several strategic cities with high volumes of shipments.
