Lion Parcel has launched Minipack, a new delivery service specifically for lightweight parcels weighing a maximum of 300 grams, offering more economical rates without rounding up to the standard 1 kilogram tariff. Chief Marketing Officer Kenny Kwanto stated that the service provides a more efficient delivery solution for the public and for businesses that regularly ship lightweight products. He acknowledged that parcels weighing less than 1 kg have typically been charged the minimum 1 kg rate, a practice that has caused challenges for customers shipping light items such as documents, accessories, and cosmetics. “Many customers expressed feeling as though they had to ‘pay for air’ because the tariff paid did not reflect the actual weight of the parcel sent,” Kenny said. Responding to the need for fairer and more affordable shipping costs, Lion Parcel introduced Minipack. Through this innovation, customers can send parcels more efficiently and economically without sacrificing service quality, as the delivery Service Level Agreement remains equivalent to Lion Parcel’s regular service. As an example, a regular shipment from Jakarta to Makassar costs Rp46,000 per kg, whereas with Minipack, customers only need to pay Rp23,000, saving up to 50 per cent. These efficiencies can be enjoyed on various other shipping routes across Indonesia. “We understand that every gram is valuable to customers. Through Minipack, Lion Parcel wants to deliver fair pricing so customers only pay according to their shipping needs, while also supporting the growth of business owners, especially MSMEs,” he continued. The Minipack service can be easily accessed through Lion Parcel’s agent network throughout Indonesia and via the Lion Parcel application. It also supports Cash on Delivery and COD Ongkir payment methods, including a programme allowing customers to pay on the spot without penalty for late delivery.
