Lion Group strengthens domestic and international flights through 'BookCabin Fair'
Lion Group is strengthening domestic and international flight connectivity through the organisation of the ‘BookCabin Travel Fair 2026’ as an effort to meet the increasing public demand for tourism, business, and Umrah travel.
Danang Mandala Prihantoro, Corporate Communications Strategic of Lion Group, stated that the event is driven by high market demand for school holidays, leisure, family trips, and other travel requirements. “Our goal is to bring ourselves closer to customers in accordance with evolving travel trends,” Danang said during a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday.
In addition to meeting travel needs, the BookCabin Travel Fair aims to educate the public on developing travel trends and various air transport service options. According to Danint, Lion Group wants to ensure the public enjoys ease of travel through a flight network that serves both direct and interconnected routes between cities and regions.
One focus of this year’s travel fair is the rising demand for religious flights, particularly Umrah travel following the Hajj season. To support this, Lion Air currently operates an average of nine non-stop flights per week from Jakarta to Jeddah as a primary route. This service is integrated with various domestic cities, allowing pilgrims from regional areas to access flights to Jeddah through more efficient connections. Danang noted that passengers from Pontianak or Pangkalan Bun can utilise Lion Group’s network to fly to Jakarta before continuing directly to Saudi Arabia.
Lion Group relies on Jakarta’s two main airports, Soekarno-Hatta and Halim Perdanakusuma, to support domestic and international connectivity. Through the BookCabin Travel Fair, the public is expected to find it easier to manage travel budgets, determine routes, and obtain recommendations for favourite destinations. Currently, Lion Group serves over 70 domestic destinations, while the international network of Batik Air Malaysia provides access to over 40 overseas destinations. This connectivity allows Indonesians to fly to Japan, India, Vietnam, China, Taiwan, and various other international destinations through connected networks.
Danang assessed that domestic and international travel trends continue to show positive growth prospects, with travel service needs expected to increase in the future. BookCabin is an online travel agent (OTA) operating under Lion Group, focusing on providing easy and efficient travel experiences.
