Lion Air maps out favourite consumer destinations
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The airline PT Lion Air (Lion Group) has conducted research to map out favourite destinations for its flight service users, aiming to provide the services required by many consumers during periods of high aviation fuel prices.
“Therefore, when we prepare BookCabin Travel 2026, we also conduct research based on the needs of customers and the general public,” said Danang Mandala Prihantoro, Corporate Communications Strategic of Lion Group, during a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Danang stated that the airline is mapping destinations sought after by many consumers and performing market analysis to provide services that meet their requirements. He noted that, based on market studies conducted by Lion Group, Indonesian tourists enjoy travelling to Japan, South Korea, and Hong Kong during school holidays.
According to him, destinations such as Vietnam, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan are also becoming increasingly popular among Indonesian travellers. “Furthermore, there are routes or destinations that are already popular for educational purposes, such as Australia,” said Danang.
The airline is striving to provide flight services to accommodate these consumer needs. “In addition, we are also accommodating travel patterns for business or bilateral purposes, with connections through Kuala Lumpur which links to more than 40 destination cities,” Danang added.
He noted that the airline is attempting to capitalise on emerging opportunities amidst existing challenges to meet consumer demands. “That is the opportunity we see; after conducting market analysis, we respond to those demands. Essentially, we are accommodating routes or destinations that are already popular,” he concluded.
