Regional development banks (BPD) require a digital foundation capable of delivering equal capability standards without erasing the distinct characteristics and needs of each region.

Jakarta (ANTARA) — Lintasarta President Director and CEO Armand Hermawan said the digital transformation of Bank Pembangunan Daerah (BPD) must be carried out while safeguarding data sovereignty, strengthening cyber resilience and accelerating technology implementation throughout Indonesia.

“BPDs need a digital foundation that can deliver equal capability standards without removing the characteristics and needs of each respective region. Through Lintasarta Intelligent Core, we want to help BPDs accelerate their digital transformation with infrastructure that is sovereign, integrated and ready to support the safe and sustainable use of artificial intelligence (AI),” Armand said in an official statement in Jakarta on Friday.

To address these needs, he continued, the company is presenting Lintasarta Intelligent Core as a digital foundation that integrates Connectivity, Cloud, Cybersecurity and Collaboration-AI (4C) in a single secure, connected and reliable ecosystem.

This foundation is built on three main principles: Sovereign, through sovereign infrastructure and sovereign AI to safeguard data sovereignty; Integrated, through end-to-end solutions that unify all digital capabilities in one ecosystem; and Seamless Experience, delivering a simpler, more efficient and reliable digital experience.

Beyond strengthening digital infrastructure, Lintasarta is also encouraging improvements in the cybersecurity capabilities of BPDs.

Currently, the maturity levels of cybersecurity and Security Operations Centres (SOC) at each BPD are said to vary, requiring a more integrated and proactive approach, supported by the use of AI to enhance the detection of and response to cyber threats.

Lintasarta’s support for BPDs is designed around three pillars. First, a digital platform through Intelligent Core as a shared, sovereign infrastructure foundation that complies with regulatory requirements.

Second, the use of AI to address priority use cases in the regions, ranging from fraud prevention and cybersecurity strengthening to micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) credit assessment and improved customer service quality.

Finally, strengthening human resources through the development of regional digital talent, involving BPDs and students from universities in each bank’s operational area.

“These three pillars align with the BPD Strengthening Roadmap 2024–2027 implemented by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), particularly the pillar on accelerating BPD digital transformation and strengthening the role of BPDs in regional and national economies,” he explained.

For information, Lintasarta will hold the BPD Summit 2026, bringing together BPDs from across Indonesia on 5–7 August 2026 in Semarang, Central Java.
