Lintasarta selects Nortel

JAKARTA (JP): Private data communications service provider PT
Aplikanusa Lintasarta will upgrade its equipment with Magellan
asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) data switches from Canadian firm
Nortel.

Nortel announced yesterday Lintasarta would provide nationwide
data network services for 35 Indonesian cities by the end of the
year with ATM services by 1999.

Nortel will then manage Lintasarta's network and allow it to
perform fault management, configuration management and network
planning on platform.

Nortel gained US$12.8 billion in revenue last year designing,
building and integrating digital networks for information,
entertainment and education worldwide. (icn)
